The Dems decide which bills go to which committee, since they are in the majority. Bills that they don't want to see the floor go to the kill committee. Usually, in the House it's State, Veterans, and Military Affairs.

RMGO helped draft HB 16-1024 and definitely does support it.
For all the talk, thus far no one in the General Assembly, Republican or Democrat, is running a bill to alter the magazine capacity limits without repealing them altogether, as Jon Caldara suggested last year. If there were such a bill then RMGO could take a position on it. But there isn't.

You guys hear about this? Any chance?

I am in Sue's district and see her at the town halls. I doubt she will be much help but will put in my two cents to her. Anybody else want to join they are pretty good around here for town halls at the Smokey Hill Library at 11AM on the second Saturday of each month. The more that show the better. Make sure to be nice. We had a couple back in 2013 where the frustration was understandable but did nothing to help our cause.
Related article that is a quick read.

I would personally agree. However, I am a 30-something with all of the un-restricted magazines I could ever need. What do you say to the 18 year old that wants to be in your shoes?
Would you rather him or her to have to jump through a few hoops and be restricted on his gun purchases from sellers that won't remove a 15+ magazine from his or her purchase? And would you prefer that he or she could buy a decent rifle and be restricted in their magazine size?
I'm personally good to go where I am. I don't REALLY need any private purchases and I certainly don't need any more magazines... although I would like to go back to a time when I could do both.
But if I was thinking about the 'up and comers' and not myself, I would go for the mag ban first and the UBGC second.
Agreed. This is so ridiculous. Every transaction on here is such a pain. Used to be meet up and buy and sell whatever you want at some halfway point. Now we gotta figure out a business somewhere with cheap transfer fees that fits into schedules. Law abiding citizens being punished as always.
Su Ryden voted against passage last year for repeal of the magazine ban and the private sale background check, when they were before the House State, Veterans and Military Affairs committee. Her track record is definitely anti-gun. However that doesn't mean it isn't worth while to ask her to knock it off. More than likely there will be an all day "gun bill day" before that committee, where they will consider bills for constitutional carry, repeal of the magazine ban and carry on school grounds.
