I dont know what happened in this situation, but I see this all the time: LEO has a guy pulled over on a busy road and the cop is hanging out right next to the driver side door and traffic is zipping by just a few feet from him as he waits for the citizen to fumble through his crap and find the right paperwork. Every time I see that I shake my head.
Is it not time that cops make contact from the passenger side of the car? I assume this would make it easier to see what is going on in the car also, as the door is not blocking the view as much? I have never made a traffic stop and I can count on one hand the times I have been pulled over, but every time I have always driven to the next parking lot and out of traffic.
Honest question for any LEOs out there? Is anyone looking into a better method or operating practice of keeping you guys less exposed to traffic?
