Unfortunately most of the people in the industry just go off the size(btu's) of the old unit and derate. Most people don't know how to, and or are to lazy to do a manual j heat log calculation. Most furnace and ac failures are caused from improper install and maintenance.

I condemned a furnace yesterday with a cracked heat exchanger on a 8 year old furnace because it was installed improperly. Labor is not covered under warranty, heat exchanger may or may not depending on if they determine its neglect or whatever.
There's a high cost for cheap work.
For what it's worth I've had Hghclsswhitetrsh in multiple homes working on AC and Furnace issues and the man is a true professional. He even installed the new furnace in the home I'm living in now and I absoluty trust him (BTW it fired up fine this year and is warm and toasty!).
I Haven't done business with The other member here that does Hvac but know through others here that I respect and trust he is a good dude and a pro aswell.
Since Mazin has vouched for hghclsswhitetrsh based on his experience, I will share my experience with bryjcom. Brian replaced our gas heater and electric hot water heater a couple of years ago. He was fast, effiicient, and affordable. Showed up when he said he would and did a very nice job at a fraction of the prices I was quoted by our neighborhood plumbing company. Later that year, our plumbing company conducted a free inspection and even they were impressed with the work done by Brian. The inspector admitted that they couldn't have touched the price I paid for the work Brian completed.
Like most jobs, it is simple if you know what you are doing. I have no hesitation in recommending Brian. He knows what he is doing.
Just a suggestion, call both and pick the one who can do the job when you want and at the price that suits you.
