Gravity varies by your mass as well.
An assumption is just something taken for granted. The veracity of any assumption is dependent on the knowledge and depth of understanding of the topic by the person assuming. The reason many people assume that most assumptions are inaccurate is that they are exposed to more assumptions of ignorant people lacking critical thought process than to assumptions made by people with a deep knowledge of the subject.
How many people assumed that the Cubs, Army and Trump would all end up losers in 2016? What were their assumptions based on?
An assumption is a safe bet when you have facts, understanding and a lack of bias or emotion as inputs. They are flawed when they are based on unfounded feelings.
I can assume that if there is an even layer of snow on the ground that it fell from the sky. I can assume that if there is a pile of snow on my driveway, that my neighbor threw it there because he is pissed I have a heated driveway. I can assume that if my wife is watching a Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel, there will be a fantasy ending.
I assume that I didn't care about my hangover when I drank all that beer last night.
It's safe to assume that Denver weather forecasters will get it wrong far more than they get it right. And then they will either ignore the fact that they whiffed, or come up with some bullshit excuse, like nascent politicians.
Irregardless of your assumption, let's keep talking!
