My taxi and cab experiences are always horrible. Shitty attitudes, shitty cars, dirty, smelly, and drive like asshats. Uber and lyft have been exceptional. I use them often.

Let me tell you about fees. My airline ticket has $58 in fees. The car rental another $79 in "fees" . Combine that with the $25 per check in bag, that's $162 out of pocket for what?
HOMELAND SECURITY & FAA. Also the City , county & state get their hands wet.
Probably more to do with how the airport is going to be sure that they get their cut from the commercial operation.
Meh, don't really care about Uber, especially with the airport offering $1/day parking for the rest of the month. I tried Uber while on vacation -- they dicked up my location despite having me clearly plotted on the map so the driver canceled the pickup (charging me $10) and I had to rebook again with the same driver. I could have gotten a regular taxi at that point.
Sounds like Uber is a goober.
How do they even enforce this? Unless you have a sticker or something on your car that identifies you as an Uber driver, what's the difference between an Uber driver picking up a fare and your buddy picking you up in his car?
Never used a "ride sharing" service so I guess I don't quite understand this system.
Uber and Lyft have visual identifiers on their vehicles.
