A lot of this is corporate policy (less Austin, of course). The corporate lawyers promote this thinking to reduce liability. That won't change until there is successful litigation on "gun free zones" and safety vacuums.
That almost happened to Century Theaters over the Aurora murders although "gun free zone" was never listed in the complaint. We had a good discussion here about that.
Anything that Texas could offer is better offered by Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, etc. Despite the many times I've been there, I've never been impressed by it. They're proud but I cannot tell what they're proud about in particular. They tend to beg the question.Quote:
