That looks like my walk through garage door. I have those same brackets and a 2x4 across the door.
Yeah buddy. If not secured, most of those doors can be opened easily if you put your shoulder into it or slip the lock with a standard screwdriver. Once inside the garage most people either leave the entry door unlocked or have standard hand tools hanging on the wall to breach it. Doh!
Holy Cow!
I thought you got assimilated by aliens or something Buckaroo....
Welcome back amigo!
I bought new garage door openers, chamberlain with home link. I get email alerts when the door opens or closes and I can operate t anywhere in the world as long as I have phone signal or wifi. I've tested it on the east coast, Mexico, Alaska, PR. It is awesome!
Highly recommend updating your doors as it is a huge relief to know what's going on. Plus battery backup if power goes out.
Only downside is if wifi goes down then it won't be able to receive or send updates. But still better than not having them.
Thanks guys, and the home link connectivity is pretty cool, along with some of the more manual ways to protect your garage. It's so easy to break into them (I may or may not have done such things in my youth [NoEvil] ), so I do want to harden my security a bit.
Incidents in my area go up when grade school is done for summer. Nearly that time of year.
