... heard it was dead, now back in the works?

ROFL.
I like how the deal died due to Cap One not expecting to get timely regulatory approval, so they line up a podunk bank to do the deal that's then going to sell all your credit card assets back to Cap One.
Wait - what? The merger is off??
All this can easily be had for $510'ish before the $75 rebate. I've been getting emails for $290 or less (before rebate) Shields for months now.
It'd only take a few more Jackson's to buy a 2nd rebated Shield for the extra cost of this set from Cabelas.
I had been told the merger was off as well. Due to Gander's bankruptcy, the Fed wouldn't allow BassPro to buy up one of the only remaining competitors.
I noticed this thread yesterday but didn’t have time to look up the guns I bought at Cabela’s Lone Tree. I have found a few of what I consider to be fair deals over the last few years.
However, as of late it appears they don’t know that gun sales are down because the prices on used stuff seems to be higher. I have never bought a new gun from them so don’t have anything to say about new prices. The thing that I’ve noticed with used guns is when they don’t know what they have prices are low. Look on the tags for clues like model or caliber unknown.
It was an issue with Capitol One not expecting approval from the FTC, or a rub between them and the Cabela's bank.
Apparently now back on again with a different bank, but reports say they are selling the assets right back to Cap One anyway.
I really just skimmed over the article.
Hell, maybe it's off AGAIN due to Gander? [facepalm]
It ain't over till the gravity challenged woman sings.
ETA: I recalled seeing this somewhere. Announced June 5, a special shareholder meeting scheduled July 11 to vote on the merger. http://www.kspr.com/content/news/cab...426550761.html

I picked up a Walther PPK that I quickly flipped for a +$200 profit from the Cabela's in Thornton...I also just picked up a Kimber Series 1 from there last week for $500...
