Ummmm ... where did you get that? The original short stories were both set in dystopian futures but had pretty much nothing to do with each other. There are no common characters or settings (and in fact, the original short story for "Total Recall" was titled "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale").
Now, if you're talking about the movies, then yes, I'd heard the "Minority Report" movie almost became a "Total Recall" sequel but that's Hollywood, where movies don't really have to have anything to do with the material optioned. Look at the mess Verhoeven made of "Starship Troopers".
