Smashburger went downhill almost overnight after they went corporate. Used to be a favorite, now as sucky as all the rest. Never tried Whataburger and unlikely to now.
I'm at the point that the best hamburger is the one I make myself !!!!
I heard they are going to switch to "BeyondMeat" and rename it "WhatIsABurger?"
Whataburger is the Texas equivalent to Colorado and Taco Bell. Not great when sober but awesome after leaving the bar. The milkshakes are a welcome answer to the Texas 90 degree heat at midnight!
I got a double double on Sunday. Tasted like Carls Jr, in my opinion.
Ahhh. The "Slopper". Smothered in a bowl of green chili. That's going on the menu soon...
I haven't been to a Whataburger in decades. My first job was at a Whataburger in Houston. Closest one to me now is about 1200 miles. Probably not worth the drive.
Closest thing to Whataburger in the metro area is Jim's Burger Haven in Arvada. Haven't been there in probably 20 years, either, so no idea if it's the same as I remember it. Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and cheese with mustard on a big 6" toasted bun. Just like Whataburger if I remember correctly. I prefer to sub japs for pickles now, though.
