RIP little general
Perot was the leader the country needed in 1992 but all his candidacy did was give both elections to the least qualified candidate (Clinton) — much like another leader I respected, Theodore Roosevelt, and the election of 1912. His independent candidacy paved the way for Trump to beat the establishment Republicans (and I hope influenced Trump to take the candidacy from within a major party instead of splitting the election into a 3-way that would have given the election to the Democrat).
Much respect for a man who knew how to lead without being a narcissistic showboat. I’m sorry he didn’t take over the Republican Party in 1992.
The late James Stockdale. He was practically deaf due to repeatedly having his ears boxed while captive in the Hanoi Hilton for 7.5 years during Vietnam. A Medal of Honor recipient and brilliant man.
