chicken and elk are perfect. I would be up for it. I am one of those who thinks that its your land and you can do anything on it you want to as long as its not hurting someone else or their land, But I dont know that root beer could have been quite threatening. Tell us all when.
Roasted Pig is what am thinking, I would have told them to get the fuck off my land.
So, were the cops claiming you could not open carry in your neighborhood? Or, they said you had a gun in your hand and that was brandishing?
Have you had the cops out before, do they know you?
Keep in mind that I live "in town" and in a sub-division. My "land" is all of 6000 sq ft, and (actually), the police never left the street or public sidewalk. They had ME step into the street with them.
But, yeah, I agree with where you all are going with this.
You know, I understand that they've got a tough job and need to proceed with caution to a supposed firearms call. I also think that, once I showed them I wasn't carrying a firearm, wasn't intoxicated, wasn't aggressive, etc., that they could have changed their demeanor. They could have considered the possibility that I wasn't a threat to ANYONE nad perhaps the call was bogus!
Here's a question. If OC is legal in CO, but OCing a firearm secured in a holster is "felony menacing" if ANY decides that they feel threatened by it, how is it really legal?
They can tell me all they want that simply carrying an expandable baton (in it's CLOSED position) or a holstered firearm without any sort of brandishing is "menacing", "confrontational", "intimidating", "threatening" or "initiating aggression", but I will ensure I have the means to defend myself from potential assault. If the simple possession of a force equalizer is wrong, then we have fallen farther than I realized!
I agree. I wasn't going anywhere with the questions, except I was trying to evaluate what I'm getting myself into with CC. If somebody sees my gun, in my own freaking yard, can that be an issue?
You need to remember, yes they can charge you with just about anything, what the DA can convict you of is a totally different thing.
As far as the OC party... I'm in.
