I think I'd rather deal with Terriers vs Bear rather than a skunk. Even a JRT knows enough to leave the bear alone when it comes down to it.

I don't think they'd ignore a skunk.

But, seriously, no. I never felt like I needed a gun. The bear was just being a bear and only trying to protect her young. As soon as we left her alone she gathered her babies and left.
