Did not get out today. However, my plan is tomorrow for sure. As a member of the Aurora Gun Club, it will will cost me nothing over my annual dues.
As a senior that's less than $6 a month.

I wouldn't go shooting with those ass-clowns if they were the last range on the planet.
self-important and ignorant pricks
They told my 20 year old Son, AFTER he did all of his paperwork:
"oh you have to be 21 to receive a rifle transfer so we sent it back."
I called BATFE here in Denver to make sure I wasn't all fucked up. The Agent, after having a good chuckle, assured me that we were straight.
This was two weeks ago.
BTW, if you carry, you have to disarm before you go shopping in their store. I was told this by a store employee with a gun on his hip.
No, that's not just for their range.
Sunday with my son and grandson, Lead Valley Range. Gotta tune up the rifles for deer season. Only a few weeks away, stoked. Am a member so only cost is annual dues(which are cheap IMO).
For the prices I hear about at some of the indoor ranges, one trip would more than pay a monthes dues out here.
Some of you guys who live in the east metro area or already have to do a little driving to shoot should check it out.
The 3rd annual Post Halloween Pumpkin Shoot is Nov. 7th. Open to non members and members alike. They usually have the grill out for burgers(don't remember if lunch is included in entry fee) and the dueling tree out for added fun. Lots of great people, friendly competition and good times.

I know. I've been patronizing their store for 2 years. But it's the cheapest range in town, and its only 10 minutes from my house. Plus, we had a good chuckle over a few of their rifles for sale afterwards (the .22 HK416, and a gold-plated 10/22)
Byte, send me an email, we'll get something set up. You available tomorrow early AM?
We hit the South range Saturday afternoon, 72 deg. and calm winds.
Was perfect, a little crowded but we just waited a few out and took our turn.[AR15]
We went on Saturday. It was a perfect day. I saw you Roman arriving as we were leaving around 3 pm.
While we were there, some guys on motorcycles came by from the BLM taking pictures. They stopped everyone for about 15 minutes while they went around taking pictures and GPS measurements. They took pictures of our shells on the ground before we were done cleaning them. I doubt that anything good will come from that.
Definitely out there a bit
First, The Cons.Next the Pros.
- It's EAST of Byers.. yeah its a drive. MAP It's at the intersection of HWY36 and County road 60
- ??? The rifle range Faces East into the morning Sun.(I'll let you decide on your own if that's a Con to you)
Generally looks like it will be a good Range. Seems pretty well thought out to me.
- Its Out there a bit...you aren't going to see your name in the paper because a stray hit someones cat or some shit.
- Its sits in a small Draw so there will be some wind protection afforded.
- They have Private lanes for 50 yd.
- They have a NICE open 100 yd.
- They are working on a 500 yd (under construction)
- They have a nice trap area (I don't shoot trap, but its nice.)
Generalities (neither good nor Bad)When I went out there was only one other shooter (other than Buffalobo and his son), everyone seemed "small town" Nice. The Kinda nice that has no judgment or ego in it.
- Tables Provided
- Target stands are not provided
- No Concrete pads or Decking
- No Overhead cover on Lanes
- It is a private Range (Members+Guests)
I found this really refreshing
I am still considering it.. it will take allot of thought to get me to make that trip every time I want to shoot. it took me about 75-80 Minutes one way
I would like to Publicly Thank Buffalobo and his son, as well as Lead Valley Range, for the Hospitality. I only wish I had more time to burn a few rounds at some paper with you guys while I was there.
Oh, And if you go out on a weekend watch for the Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and the Lotus's
;)
