a few years back in oregon while doing my inventory gig a couple of folks on our team were stalked by a mountain lion on their way back down a hill.
on a different hill that I went to there were warnings in the directions that a mountain lion lived on the hill and had been seen as recently as a week before. The directions also had instructions on what to do if you saw the lion. The last line was "don't run or you will be lunch"
EDIT: I looked it up it's pilot butte in bend.
I'm out of town, the story even made a blip on national coverage. My kids bus stop is about 250 yrds away and comes an hour earlier than last year (dawn). Needless to say I don't like walking my 10yr old predictably every morning at dawn even with my big dog. We drive.
She never would have been attacked if she wasn't a lesbian.
Anyway, we've been stalked in the middle of the night by what we thought was a mountain lion. Unless it was a deer with predator spaced eyes or a turkey with cat eyes or something. Don't worry though, we were teenagers with a couple of hand held pellet guns.

OK, I just watched the video and I call BS on the attack. A gerbil would have done more damage.
