Blair and Gilmore were longtime prosecutors in the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s office when in 1999 they won a conviction against Tim Masters for the 1987 slaying of Peggy Hettrick in Fort Collins. Masters’ conviction was overturned due to newly discovered DNA evidence and he was released from prison in 2008, after serving the better part of a decade behind bars.
Blair and Gilmore were publicly censured in 2008 by the state’s attorney regulation office for failing to ensure that Masters’ defense attorneys received potentially helpful evidence from investigators, though they were not found to have intentionally hidden evidence. Masters sued the city of Fort Collins and Larimer County for wrongful imprisonment, settling this year for a combined $10 million.
Even though my vote was only succesful in a few areas, these were the best votes I ever made. I hope they end up working at MCd's.
The new leader of the House, John Boehner said:
"They had an enormous opportunity to bring about change and they failed, and I don't say that harshly," he said, adding: "They really are left-wing elitists and they really thought the country didn't get it and therefore it was their job to give the country the government that they thought the country needed, even if they didn't want it. That's the whole history of the health plan."
God help the Republic

'The question now is, Can Republicans deliver on their rhetoric of creating jobs, bringing down the deficit and turning the ecomony around?
The Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, said that should the Republicans make the gains they expected, their No. 1 priority would be to work toward making President Obama a one-term president.
If these means that the poor and the middle class will have to wait for jobs and that the ecomony will be put on the back burner, then sadly, the ugliness of politics will have prevailed, and the job requirements of our representatives will be so altered as to be unrecognizible.'
Did Babs Boxer loose too? Good Bye Polosi it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
I think Boxer survived.
I have access to Tshirt/polo screen printer etc. Not bumper sticker... But you can borrow my stapler to stick the shirt onto your boss' bumper!
I'm still having a hard time reconciling the fact the people of Colorado elected Bennett over Buck. That's pretty embarrassing. Colorado didn't follow the national trend, that's for sure. However, we did pick up two republican US House seats and the state house went republican. I guess that's a plus.
Still a solidly purple state. Our next target needs to be Udall in 2012. I hope the republicans can find someone vote-worthy to take him on.
