Got the email too, gonna call on lunch.
Maybe they knew they were screwed on the Obamacare bill because they know they don't have the votes, so they said "sure, um, attach the gun thing to that..."
I looked through the amendments of this bill on Thomas.net and found no indicators of anything by McCarthy or HR308. There are a few in there as far as repealing Oblammy care, but saw nothing firearm related.
Can they "sneak" anything in at last minute? One would think that any proposed amendment would at least have to be brought up for discussion before it can be added/voted upon.
i need the FAA to keep working
I bet they are going to stick the repeal on every bill... squeaky wheel style. They stuck it on the FAA bill (S.223) as amendment S Amdt.13. The main repeal bill is S.192.
There is presently nothing on the FAA Bill S.223 that has anything to do with high cap mags that I can find. They may add another amendment but it would have to be on the record. It's not like they can get away with not telling anyone about it, it has to be in writing which we can all read if you go to senate.gov and open S.223.
I wish RMGO wouldn't be so cryptic. I always have to research what they say because they don't give any actual verifiable facts. Put real information in the email! What's the bill name and number? Who told you this information? Is the so-called McCarthy Magazine Ban as they called it an actual amendment or just hearsay at this point? Real information like this would help us and make us look much more involved/educated when we contact our senators than if we just call and say "Hey, someone said McCarthy is going to ban magazines in the FAA bill. Don't support it!" Our representatives are much more likely to listen to us if it sounds like we know what we're talking about instead of sounding like we are just sheep believing anything that comes to our email inbox...
I appreciate RMGO keeping track of what's going on, but please, give us real information to work with so we don't sound dumb when we contact our representatives.
I thought that as well today. One of the first things I looked for when I heard about this today was information on the NRAs site about it. Say what you will about the NRA, but they do a lot for gun rights, and it would have been all over their site, emails sent, etc
