Bought one last year. Really wanted to love it but unfortunately it was the biggest POS I've ever owned. My brother had the same experience and so did two friends. Shame because it fits my hand so well but I know of way too many bad experiences with this pistol to ever buy one again. Sold mine and got a Ruger Mark III which eats everything.

The trigger is somewhat salvagable with some work. Made by Umarex IIRC they are another example an Airsoft gone awry. Entirely too complex of a mechanism to be reliable. You can minimize malfunctions by keeping it impeccably clean.

"I love the gun but want a 22 that is smaller and can be put in a backpack for Grouse when I am archery hunting."
Try using a 22 cal. pump up pellet pistol, very little noise and you get one more before they spook.
I have had both the Sig and the Walther, I still have the P22, small, light and never hangs up.

I have two of these, my buddy has two as well. They all jammed like crazy when we got them didnt matter how clean they were or what ammo they were given.
Took a little 1200 grit lapping compound on the slide and racked it a couple hundred times. Did this to all four of them. Cleaned them up real good to get all the compound off.
These things will eat whatever we feed it now. Lapping these things was the best 20 minutes I ever spent on a gun.

I know i'm bringing this back from the dead... but I always find this conversation with the Mosquito. If you want a .22 that will eat anything, this is not the pistol for you. But, the gun has a very nice weight and balance. I use it when introducing a newbe shooter to the sport.. and as long as it's clean, and you shoot CCI mini mag, it will get thru a trip to the range just fine. The factory trigger is AWFUL. But, a visit to BP Tactical solved my issues with that. The trigger is fine now. Thank you very much!

My wife has a pink one and loves it. Run mini mags and keep it clean. Ran 200+ rounds one day and had 3 issues.

I've owned both the mosquito and the Walter p22 and the mosquito much more natural in the hand and was more reliable. With Winchester bulk ammo at least. It is definitely a fun plinker!

I really like my Mosquito, it's a fun little gun to shoot. I probably need to give it to BP to clean up though, it's picky on ammo to be sure!

Had a beretta 21a (bobcat) that could not make it through a single mag of Remington bulk ammo. Sold it off and bought a Colt/Umarex 1911 .22 rail gun. Love this pistol. It eats everything (including Remington subsonic). That said I wish I had given the pocket beretta a chance with mini mags because it was a heck of a lot of fun to shoot when it was working properly. Definitely the size you are looking for to.

I bought my wife one and had nothing but bad results with it. Went through a bunch of forums and did all tips and tricks and still had problems with it. We sold it and picked up a Berreta NEOS and have not had a single problem with it.
