The whole job you see there cost between 23 and 26k. I got a bunch of tools so that has to subtract out. If you can set tile and backsplash, you can save a fortune. The cabinets, appliances and countertops were just under 20k.

Cripes Dennis, if I'd known you had that much money I'd have charged you double for the cabinets!
I'm kidding, but you're right to say it can be done for much less if you reuse some appliances or go with something other than unobtanium for the counter tops.
Seriously, you did great work, and you two have really good taste. That is not always the case. You wouldn't believe some of the not-so-handsome stuff people pay us to build. The customer is always right...right?

And yea it can be done for less. I bought my granite slab countertops with the ogee-nose for $300...its not what you know but who you know!
Thanks Tim! We're happy as all get out with it. One more cool touch I forgot to mention. If anyone is interested, the switchplates are a milled travertine. We sent tile, Columbia Gorge Stoneworks made the plates. They look like this:
