I'm not really a big block Chevy guy, but can't you go at least .060" over on a 454? Maybe even more?

Obviously I can't really tell from the pictures but it looks like the block could probably be saved.

That's going to take some work to clean up.

It pays to overbuild your valve train.

That's one thing I miss about my Honda S2000 is the 9000 rpm redline

almost got it all back together today, just need to get a brass Distributor gear tomorrow, and fire it up.
