TSA are failed Walmart employees!
I fly a lot and for the most part I'd say they're power crazy rude idiots.
I realize there are some good ones but they're definately out numbered.
I tell my kids that they won't get a decent job if they don't work hard at school and will end up at Walmart, I may change that to the TSA.
Hiring to the lowest common denominator......
Funny you mention malls, my buddy's brother works a LEO up in Nebraska and although it's not expressly written, they don't hire former TSA employees. When asked he said it's because "We're not running a 1930s/40s German Paramilitary org here."
I don't know about you guys but I've never seen a man, between 18-40, of possible Middle Eastern decent, ever look at the security station and step out of line to throw his box cutter and C-4 into nearby trash. I don't think it's because of the TSA discouraging that, I'd firmly put my money on the fact that they don't want another failed attack like Shanksville, PA- we fight back Ahmed!

^ This is probably why we haven't had a huge wave of attacks (old article but still true today) via US Airlines.
One researcher from a D.C. think tank I met some time ago- can't remember which one- said that he thinks we haven't seen many terror attacks because the bigger target is our troops in a more easily accessible environment (IE: Afghanistan/Iraq)...
And those pilots are all volunteers. They do it on their own time with their own money without compensation from the government or their airline. Personal time os used to receive the training. That is covered but they have to get themselves there and cover food. Only 1 issue since the program started that a pilot screwed up and shot a hole outthe side of the cockpit. Mostly from not following procedures but also from the crappy lock system they use for the holsters.
.
Sniper, I know, but it's a good idea to have trained, gun carrying people on flights, because they can't put a federal air marshal on every single plane, and with this number increasing it kinda says carry whatever you want on a plane, but if you cause trouble and the co-pilot pops you with a .45 to the face, don't say we didn't warn you. I have a few friends who are pilots with major airlines and they went through and did this so they can have a gun on the plane- then again, all but one are former AF combat aviators and have had a little more than just a weekend course on how to shoot a pistol.
Good thing to know!
up here in my neck of the woods in NY these guys are just like some para military group-none of them have any military or leo experience at all
well maybe they got chaptered out of the military and failed the police test-but there experts on there cells!!
Well, they might have given the old lady a tough time, but they DID let this clown through:

I'll give the same warning here as I've given in other places: THERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU JUST CAN'T UN-SEE!
I'll provide this http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/...sEyeBleach.png just in case you guys need it.
I would rather lose my home, go hungry and beg for money on a street corner with a sign than work for TSA.
Anyone who works for TSA has no self-esteem whatsoever. TSA employees have no redeeming qualities. Zero. TSA is absolutely worthless as a government agency. They have done nothing...nothing...to make travel safer. Their sole purpose in life is making travel miserable for honest Americans.
I can't stand the TSA and I'd rather take my chances with Muslim terrorists than deal with any of those asshats.
My son recently left for Afghanistan out of the CO Springs airport. Yeah...the same airport that shares runways with Peterson AFB. The same airport as most of the Carson guys leave from. So I feel pretty safe in assuming lots of military guys with issued weapons go through that airport on a weekly basis.
As the guys in Kyle's unit were checking their rifle/gun cases, containing an assortment of guns including M4 rifles, M9 pistols and a few others, the TSA agent apparently in charge made a big fuss out of making sure everyone knew the rifle cases had to be x-rayed for weapons. This was after she watched the member's of my son's unit open their individual cases and check the serial numbers of the guns to make sure everything was accounted for. WTF???
They're gun cases you f**king moron. You watched the guys open them and check their guns. What do you think the x-rays are gonna reveal?
So, the answer to the original question is a resounding, "Not only NO...but f**k no!"
