Ok... I have a P22 and the kids shoot it a lot. I shoot federal bulk pack hollow points and CCI mini mag ammo. Both have worked fine for me.
rem 22 LR is netorious for too much wax on the bullet and loose fitting bullets. I have seen a lot of guns puke on those things. If you have any wax built up in the chamber or feed ramp, it will puke.
The last bulk pack of Win 22 HPs I looked at were pretty waxie and had fairly inconsistent hollow points. I sell ammo at walmart 5 times a week. I see a LOT of 22 rounds.
Lastly, clean and lube the gun. It wants lube on the rails. Don't put that sissy rem oil, CLP or other thin garbage on it. Put motor oil or ATF fluid on the rails. I'm partial to synthetic 10w30 myself. DON'T get lube into the safety selector or hammber block mechanisms. Too much oil in it and the safety can flip to safe during the recoil of shooting. Keep it dry and it will work fine.
