Really? I hope my sarcasm meter has run out. You do realize truckers have this shit happen all the damn time? I could see if it was a regular vehicle etc, but the fire prob started from an overheated engine or electrical fualt.

I drive a shitload of miles a year on the highways from North Dakota to Texas, I think around 150K a year roughly, and NEVER stop for rigs. I will sometimes stop for regular folks in vehicles, but not rigs. Those bastards wont stop for you or anyone else and I rarely stop for regular folks anymore since I was almost hit by a passer by, it was within an inch she almsot hit my leg and took me out.

Just really curious why you would stop and put yourself in more danger then need be since 99.9999% of drivers on the highway are shit drivers and also wouldnt ever stop for you???

For a truck that's just broken down, I usually keep about my business. But a truck that's going up in flames like that? Guy could probably use a hand.

Is no reason not to help someone.
Sure, I've been broken down on the side of the highway and NOBODY stopped to help... that doesn't mean I should go around with a chip on my shoulder thinking "Screw you, nobody helped me when I needed it, so I won't stop for you" when I see someone on the side of the road.
Just because its what most people do (or don't do), doesn't make it the right thing to do.

I agree with you on the chip pn my shoulder. I rarely stop anymore mainly because I was almost hit and it wouldnt have turned out well for me.

engine cools thru the tunnel (trust me, I have a Columbia just like that truck) once you're up the hill and it's not that hot out. Diesels don't explode, they just stop making power when they overheat. Probably a brake or bearing fire.

If you drove a truck you'd never stop for cars either. Fucking idiots the lot of ya. If it was on fire, they'd probably stop. Truck drivers have limited time. They get 11 hours of driving time a day and they get paid by the mile. If they stop for you because you're broken down then they lose hours of pay, their load might be late, might be fired, etc. I don't stop for anyone either in town or on the freeway. In the middle of nowhere in a snow storm, sure I'll stop for a minute "need a ride?", but otherwise I"m moving on. Truck or car.

Worst part about a truck fire, is the guy is going to lose all his stuff in the truck. The truck is certainly a company truck, but all his personal stuff is in the cab, sleeper, etc. I know guys who take multiple pickup loads of stuff out when they change jobs.

Yeah that trucker will certainly miss all of his porn videos, smelly, unwashed clothes, his cooler and of course the un-thrown "trucker bombs"![ROFL1]

Thats still on the uphill run to the tunnel heading west. Must have been a bearing or electrical cause. Guy should have unhitched the trailer from the tractor but Im sure its a company truck and he doesn't care too much.
