CO-AR15 was one of two message boards that I post on that didn't have a language filter. I'm surprised it wasn't added a long time ago honestly.

No, we are not all adults - this is a family-oriented site and always has been.
Even if we were all adults, many of our members feel compelled to behave and speak like a 16yo gang-banger wannabe.
I tried to warn folks here but while several members appreciated me providing the warning to the site others took it as a challenge to rachet the language up a notch.
Site profanity filter solves the problem and no one has to wash their mouths out with soap.
I like it personally. I am prone to typing out cuss words. People still get the point either way and the word doesn't have to be in text. no big deal IMO.
It really only hurts the rants, but again, you get the point and most people and figure out what is being said.
No one tells their 9 year-old to go browse a gun web forum. The ones that are old enough to have an interest in some of the threads are saying worse things to their friends already. Adding some astericks isn't going to accomplish anything that a minimal effort in parenting would.
