I'd bet its toast, but you can always pay someone a bit to try to recover something...
I dropped an alphanumeric pager (remember those?) in a toilet once. I fished it out, took out the battery, dismantled the case, and let it dry for 2-3 days. It was fine afterward.
I'm not really sure if you would be able to find a container large enough, but when cell phones get wet, a good trick is to put it in a ziploc with some rice.
The rice soaks up the moisture, and theoretically allows the phone to work again.
I'd be sure and get the hard drive out of the laptop before you continue to try any further recovery processes. It's mostly sealed and should be recoverable without much work - if it's not soaked more by some recovery process.
