According to the stories I read and a quick vid I found this morning the gun was a Luger. So something isn't quite right. Maybe it was a personal WWII German Luger he carried? I dunno, I'm not aware of many Germans fighting in Korea. Did the Soviets give their commie Korean allies captured German weapons? I do know they did with the Vietnamese during a later war, never heard that about Korea though.
In the vid, the old guy makes the statement that you can't hit anything with a .45, that the Luger was a better gun. :)
Glad he was able to take care of himself.
