My grandfather is a PH vet. He will be 96 this month. He goes to Pearl Harbor a couple times a week and autographs books that he wrote about the days prior to the attack. He donates the money back to supporting the memorial. In 2001, Linda and I went to Hawaii for a family reunion. While we were there, he took us to PH and the USS Arizona memorial. To say that being there with him was awe inspiring would be an understatement. He was standing there telling his story, (there is a HUGE photo of Ford Island taken from a Japanese plane during the attack that he was using for reference) and people walking by just stopped to listen. Must have been sixty or seventy by the time he was done. People that did'nt even know him just wanted to have a picture taken with him.It was incredible.
