Why? The deputies are getting paid whether they are on that stop, driving around or at Starbucks. Not a good use of their time, maybe an argument there. Depends upon the circumstances and driving by, you don't know that piece.

I'm saying I would assume two cops can handle most traffic accidents or infractions. The other cops should roll by and keep patrolling the streets and find the real bad guys out there.

So what's your level of LE experience?

And I'm in HR a lot. I never...NEVER...see 5 SO cars on a stop. Or 3 for that matter. 5 cars would have to be more cars than they even have assigned to that area.

I had 3 cops stop me in Greenwood Village.. it started off as one.. then it became two cars.. next thing I know there are three of them and we're standing around shooting the shit about guns while they drool over the car I was driving.. The shit eating grin on my face was apparently suspicious :) [Coffee]

We have a policy that we never pass another officer on a traffic stop. We are to stop and check their status...if they are okay or there is no other factor we leave.
