That would be an industrial blast cabinet.
On the other bench is another big black thing that contains tools.
308 platform tools to be exact.

Nope. No buying "sand". Plus, it isn't sand. Sand blasting will make a pretty rough surface and remove a bit of material as well. What I have access to is a glass bead cabinet. It uses glass beads. They leave the surface dull but smooth and don't really remove any material.
You would need the .308 tools though. Or we would have to take some time masking off everything we don't want blasted.

Then I decided that was way too much bling and really showed fingerprints so I bead blasted it.

Okay I need to figure out what my next step is. After taking pics of this thing you can see how "sHiNy" the barrel is.
