From my understanding, if you hold a CCW, then you can just ignore those "gun-free zone" signs, as long as you dont take out your gun and show it off.

As far as CCW goes, the 49 states that issue permits fall into the category of either "May issue" which places the decision to issue a permit at the discretion of one person or group, or "shall issue", which means that under statute, the issuing authority must issue a permit to anyone that meets the requirements that applies.
