And the OP's next thread in the CCW section will be asking: How long is the wait time for his CCW permit for whatever county Ft. Collins is in.............[LOL]
To the OP, remember, it is a background check form not a registration you fill out when you purchase a firearm in CO.
All the ribbing you are getting is our form of hazing NOOBs, don't take it personally. And remember, when you go to your first group shooting outing, it is the NOOBs job to paste and reset the 100 yard and beyond targets.[Tooth]
As much as I think this is a silly question, I asked questions when I first was interested in carrying, and some people treated them like they were stupid questions. There is no connection between your past firearms purchases, and your CCW eligibility.
OK...now that the niceties are out of the way, back to the hazing.
OK everyone, calm down. We've been at this stage before in our lives & he didn't ask for wait times...
OP: as long as you meet the requirements, then since CO is a shall issue state, you cannot be denied a permit. You can read the applicable statues cor CCW requirements by searching for Colorado Revised Statues (C.R.S.) 18-12-203 through 18-12-206. While you're there, read the rest of the 18-12-xxx statues as well before taking a course from a reputable instructor. Live fire is not required in CO but is it recommended for almost all shooters. Feel free to post any questions here as there is a plethora of knowledge on this forum (as well as friendly sarcasm and rants about wait times).
Ok guys lets take it easy on the new guy.
Ease up on him now.
