If you don't mind, I grew up with a neighbor who was born with a
genetic deformity that doctors had to take most of his left foot.
He is in his mid 20s now and he has a normal life we all have just
with a prosthetic, I'd like to hear your Son's story. You can pm and I will keep
our convo between us, if not I understand and still wish him all the best!!!!
Yes the bottom metal part is changable. But the top part gets too short every year as he grows. He broke the big toe off of the last one. It was looking pretty bad.Quote:

This is the most awesome thing I've seen all day/week/month
He was born with Fibular hemimelia, a birth defect. Only had 3 toes and the ankle was all messed up on that left foot. So when he was 2 years old we had to make a tough decision and had his foot amputated. It worked out very well and he does everything the other kids do. They tool it off right below the ankle and attached the heel bone to the bottom of leg bone. It feels and looks just like our heels with the skin and cushion. He can hobble along without his leg at the swimming pool or to get up and go pee at night. It will continue to get shorter as he gets older but that is a good thing. He needs more room for better ankle parts.
