Yeah a little heavy, specially if you are going to lug it around hiking in the woods-a-hunting. [Flower]
I just weighed mine without a mag and not much difference, 10lbs 6oz
Still a little heavy, but better than I had expected.

I've got one of the new Armalites that is under 8 without a loaded Mag...I'll have to weigh it with that in. It weighs less than my 15[Weight]
Weight is my biggest gripe about my AR10. But when you put .308 and semi-auto in the same sentence you start at 8.5 Lbs at the lightest and go up from there depending on add ons. And this applies not only to the AR10 but to the PTR-91, FAL and M1As I have owned in the past.
right now my AR10-T carbine is 9.5 Lbs with iron sights and empty. Using the Armalite steel magazines you add about 2 Lbs for a fully loaded 20 rounder. Then add optics, now you are up to 13 Lbs fully loaded. These rifles get heavy fast.
Other than weight, I love my AR10.
I weighed mine without a mag and it was not very much difference at all. Steel mags and MAGPUL LR20's are not that much difference in weight? I am please I got mine under 13lb and it reached its goal as the medium ground semi auto carbine I can use for many things.
According to the factory information, mine weighs 7.98 lbs. empty.......
I replaced the stock to an Ace AFRX and a MIAD grip and a USMC sling, so I will say it is just over 8lbs. empty.
AR10 (B model) weights 8 lb. 10 oz. with no mag. It is a carbine with an A2 stock and Midwest industries BUIS sights. Armalite 20 round mag with 20 rounds 7.62 NATO weights 1 lb. 9 oz. Total weight adds up to 10 lb 3 oz.
The above weighted 7 lb 14.4 oz with an A4 collapsible stock with no mag.

hopefully not having to lug it anywhere far.... just need to let the lead do the travelling :-D
I want to build a second upper for it once parts become more common than unobtanium. I gotta get a better camera or maybe invest in some real photography.
