yeah, good thing Conn. already has really tough gun laws and schools are gun free zones, otherwise it might be bad (sarcasm)
The state legislature will definitely pass a statewide AWB and High Capacity Ban of some sort this legislative session. This was going to happen without the latest event. Hopefully, we will get ready now. The minority at the state legislature does not have the ability to filibuster the majority party. If the majority party wants it, has the votes, it will pass.
The gun owners in this state need to mobilize now and prepare for a legislative war along with setting some time and money aside for it. Our presence and pocket books need to be ready to show the impact a yes vote will have in the next election especially with swing districts.
Dudley Brown can be a real asshole and loses credibility with more moderate legislators and activists. I was once extremely involved, worked at the legislature, and was a state delegate at the time Owens was up for reelection. Brown was absolutely horrid (extremely subversive and ugly at the state convention) toward him because he supported background checks never mind we have concealed carry because of Owens. Brown would gamble everything to get everything or lose everything instead of getting what we really need; he is not that good at playing the political game. Granted, this was ten years ago and I haven't been around him since so I don't know if he changed, but from my experience he is not the best negotiator. I doubt a legislature dominated by a bunch of Dems will listen to him.
The demographics of this state are different now; gun owners from around the state especially in rural areas need to understand. Voting D 30 years ago is not the same as voting D today with all the California liberal BS that took over this state.
