Ick beamers. Had a stupid service writer try and sell a cheap battery to a customer this week. Had to school her on what it really should have. Then had to dink around in the launch to reset the module for the battery, lol. Too bad you're in denver, and I work for a shop already, lol.
Hey man, remember working on my 2wd 2000 Silverado? Do you do suspension work on those too? Something ain't right, I plan to get a free analysis at Denver Spring to find out what the problem is, and would then prefer to have an honest independent wrench fix it.
I am knee deep in a total rebuild on my Audi. This whole journey started when the weather was much better. So, I feel your pain from before. I wish I had a shop with heat and a lift bay. Sigh... I want an autocrafts shop for civies.
Tell me about it. When I first moved to Denver I was stuck for a while at Midas while I looked for a better gig. An X3 came in needing a battery. Wasn't my ticket but I checked it out. Under warranty. I mention it to the service writer. Nope. They just replaced the AGM battery with a standard one and didn't reprogram it. I left shortly after.
Funny you mention them. Corporate(cosmic) store, or one of the franchise stores? Put in quite a few years with some midas franchises before I went to an independent out here. I got very tired of cleaning up the messes that C techs made doing A tech work, and the front staff had even less of a clue, and pushing cheap parts for high prices. Know how many crank sensors I threw in a VW from bautozone before they decided to listen to me and get one from the dealer?lol
