Here is the message I got out of this:

My son got the same reaction when his teacher told them that fighting back would get them suspended, the teacher felt the need to call me to explain school policy, i made it very clear that he would not be a victim for them and would not be in trouble with me if he defended himself,
the wife and i are gonna look into home schooling for the twins
They should give a pat on his back, congratulate him on his man sack and move on. Suspending him is going full retard.
