I actually don't really dig the Henrys. Don't like the finish on the "blued" (flat black baked paint) ones and I think the brass guns look weird. I much, much prefer the Marlin 39 series or of course the Winchester 9422 type. On the other hand the Henrys are pretty much the only affordable guns of their type that are currently manufactured. The Winchesters are out of production and the Marlins are much harder to get. I saw a nickeled Rossi 22LR of that type earlier this year that really impressed me.
Not to brag, but we have Four Abraham Lincoln memorial golden boys, with consecutive serial numbers. One for Pops, two sons and grandson.
Nice guns.
Great too, if you email Henry about something, they respond personally. Small company. Anthony Imperato, will answer your email.
I bought a H001 and put a scope on it and couldn't get better than 1 1/2" at 25ft. No not 25 yards, 25ft. I had a 10-22 at the same time and at the same distance would put all of them in one hole. I started emailing them and asking what the rifle was supposed to be capable of because on their website they never state it will do an inch at 50 yards or anything. There are customers on there that say they have shot coyotes out to a hundred yards off horseback :) Long story short, told them what types of ammo I tried in it and even though they said the Henry couldn't compete with my 10-22 with aftermarket bull barrel that they would check it out. I sent it in and they recrowned the barrel and sent me a test target at 25 yards with all touching. I was getting emails from the main engineering guy from Henry. Very good customer support.
That kind of customer service goes a long way.
