I don't take credit cards in my business either.. Depending on who you deal with you are going to pay some combination of monthly fees, per transaction fees and a percentage of each transaction. Not to mention that the credit card company does not pay you your money in some cases for up to 90 days after the transaction. Small businesses that do not run large numbers get screwed royally by credit card companies. A 20% profit on an item quickly becomes a 0% profit and in the restaurant biz a single % point can mean staying in business and closing.
Otherwise, I like being at the foot of the mountain, makes a trip up the canyon for hiking, mtn biking, camping, skiing and whatnot a quick trip rather than a day long ordeal. I've spent enough time living in suburbia to ever consider anything like Westminster, Arvada or Littleton and I've done the living downtown thing back when I used to live in Minneapolis.
If your waiting 90 days instead of 2-3, you really need a new merchant processor. Square is the way to go on low volume card transactions.
That's very 1980s. Your business your rules.
Never heard of a 90 day hold on CC funds. Per transaction fees, monthly fees and % per do add up.
The Square does/did have a 90 day stipulation on larger transactions but they would wave it after so many transactions, if you asked. 3% per transaction and no monthly fees is nice for the occasional user.
What I don't understand is why people don't carry cash anymore. Why do people assume that cash/check only business' are shady?
I enjoy visiting Boulder, even though I have zero desire to ever live there. But, after what the Dems have done to us we need to BOYCOTT all liberal areas and businesses, to the maximum extent possible. This includes CU football and basketball games, and definitely let them know when you cancell your season tickets that it's because CU is so biased towards liberal policies. Support the AFA instead. Spend your money in El Paso and Douglas Counties instead of Denver, whenever you can. Fight back.
When I was living in Boulder about 13-16 years ago, it was worse.
No major retailers. I had to goto MacGOGO hardware to buy stuff, because there were no Home Depot.
However, I would rather live in Boulder than Denver. At least Boulder is more firearm friendly than Denver and their NO OC, No 21+ rounds mag.
Columbine Steakhouse on Federal just south of the stadium doesn't take credit cards. Well worth the cash if you are in the hood and have some cash.
Boulder is a tourist destination like Haigh-Ashbury in San Francisco. Everyone enjoys a freak show from time to time.
You won't catch my ass any where near Boulder. Even 20 years ago I had problems. So [fyou] Boulder!!
Why on earth would you goto the Southern Sun?
