So the real question for the people that have already been there is: Do they have fudge?
I will be there bright and early with my Free Colorado shirt on.
They have lots of ammo. I don't know if it will be any great "deal" though.
Think I'll hit em up the first of the year. Novelty will be over by then.
Are there a bunch of people camped out already or is there a chance it will only be semi-crazy tomorrow morning?
Im heading over tomorrow for some clothing and camping related stuff, figure there won't be any ammo left. might just check it out and walk around and call it a day and just order the stuff online and pick it up later.
They're not opening until -I Think- 11am tomorrow. Count on 80% of the people waiting to be looking for the ammo. Just make a hard left then a hard right after you go in.
Was at the Lone Tree store this evening. Picked up 400 rounds of 308 hunting ammo. Great experience, prices was good on the hunting ammo. However ammo was flying off shelfs. Looked long and hard at the pistols. I would say average price was 10 percent over Green Mountain Guns prices. They did have one model of a Sig 1911 at a good price so snagged that, however will say I did not see to many good deals. Consignment area was full however no real good prices, and many of pistols were beaters. Since I was very broke in the end I stayed away from other temptations. However I am encouraged by my experience. Cabellas does run deals periodically so there is hope for us all. I do believe these stores will put some of the little guys out of business. The Green Mountains will do fine, while the 5280 will have to lower prices and run more deals.
There AR section was very slim pickens. I shuttered when I saw they had more AR s that had no flash suppressors than ones that did. Saw alot of Mini 14s being sold. No campers at 810pm,, people were coming and going like it was a normal day. Noticed that around the corner there was a mobile incident command center and lots of cops. Good luck everyone.
I'm at the Thornton location. I have a grill and hot dogs that I am too full to eat. anyone want hot dogs?
I'm gonna guess about 200ish?
by 10 you will most definitely not be first 500
They had soft grand opening days for "friends and family" and "Cabela's Club" members.
Sounds like waiting as one of first 500 is going to be crazy. (Getting off at 830-9am even going straight over...)
Anyone happen to see if good/special pricing on stuff like Remington American Rifle/Savage's/Weatherby Vanguard?
I wonder if I can pick up 5.7x28 ammo there......
I am short of all calibers at this time.
The reason i went last night was I didn't notice I had an invitation (a credit app) waiting for me at home. Left at 9pm, rifles were ok prices, ammo was normal, nothing spectacular. But the line wrapped around the building already.

I was going to swing by Lone Tree this afternoon (need a shooting vest) because I will be in that area of town. May give it a pass, I will bet the SW and Gander Mtn management are a little nervous
all of the long lines and camping out seem a little silly--cabela's isn't exactly known for being a low priced leader on anything. there's nothing you can get a cabelas (other than their own branded merchandise) that you couldn't get at any other store in denver or online
To me- time is money. There are no savings anyone is going to get there that justify sitting outside for 12 hours. Insane and to me kind of stupid.
Look like a redneck rampage
Arrived at 8:15 am and I'm nowhere near the first 500 more like 1000
You couldn't pay me to go anywhere near there today. Not worth it. I just don't get why people will give up hours of there life and deal with all the frustration to save a dollar or 2.
we got donuts?
Looked liike a fuk'n zoo... Bored peeps with no agenda, blindly led into the hysteria.
No agenda, nothing better to do than stand in a very long line for the same stuff they could walk in and get at Bass Pro and elsewhere. You can bet that the "other" outdoors stores are having some good sales to counter these grand openings.[facepalm][Shake][Puke]
magpul is here
If I wasn't working today, I'd be out driving people from their parking spot, to the store. $10 per person. My fiance works in the area and they had "No Cabela's parking" signs in her lot by Brunswick zone. That's a far ass walk!
Besides the gift cards at the door I didn't hear anything that compelled me to even think about going to their grand openings. I haven't seen any fliers, any discounts, any 'doorbusters', just an outdoor sporting goods place opening. I could see this kind of event if it was one of their mega stores like in Sydney or something, but not just two decent sized retail stores. Hell, Bass Pro in Stapleton looks massive compared to these two stores.
I got 2 sale flyers. 1 in Sundays paper, and 1 in last nights mail. Prices were nothing to make me want to deal w the madness or even go there to shop. They have some "special" guests showing up. Mainly inbred t.v show people from shows like Swamp People and other some other silly outdoor shows.
