Isn't pickenup off coal creek? Anyone heard from him?
It is raining pretty good at 122nd and Huron. Leave it to Time Warner...they failed to put a lid back on their pipe running into our CPU/switch room from the street in the vault (area under the manhole cover). The hole filled up with water and the water ran through the pipe (conduit with Fiber run) going into our CPU/switch room and started to flood our room. 3 buckets, a shopvac, and 2 hours later we finally got the water below the pipe opening. Now we have folks out running around looking for pumps and Lowe's, Home Depot, and others are all sold out. Hopefully Walfart has one as we are running out of options.
Fun times indeed.
Also, over by the Adams County Fair grounds on 124th they have the road closed due to the river flooding. Just an FYI to everyone. They routed people over to 120th. I could not believe how much the river is over the banks in that area.
Yup. Thanks for asking.
Coal "Creek" is now Coal RIVER.
The highway is gone in places, they said not to expect to be able to travel Hwy 72 for at least a month.
They turned off the natural gas line. Some do not have electricity. Thankfully we still do.....for now.
We lost one bridge, hope the other holds up, or we will not be able to get out of the yard when they open the road.
At least a foot of standing water in the basement. Going to take the sump pump(s) a LONG time to empty that out.
Have not accessed the rest of the damages yet. And it is STILL RAINING. This isn't over yet.
pickenup: glad to hear you're safe at least.
May God help all affected during this time...
I-25 & 120th,Coming down real good right now.
I'm working from home today Ray. At Thornton Pkwy and I-25 it is currently just sprinkling.
Yes. I have an X5 with summer tires on it which is the BESTEST offroad vehicle EVAR! I can drive out to you no matter what.
But seriously, if there are people in need of anything post up or PM me if you don't want it public and I will see about making it happen. My availability for transport is limited during the week though.
In the 50+ years I've been here I don't recall ever seeing this much rain over this length of time. We get a lot of the all day soakers but two to three days of significant rains are not normal. I just dumped another 5" out of my rain gauge, I dumped 1-3/4" yesterday, that's almost 7" in 48 hours. And I live in Saudi Aurora as in dry desert.
What is it like in Highlands Ranch? My son is supposed to have a football game this evening.
27J just sent out a notification district wide that all after school activities have been cancelled.
For any parents that have kiddos in 27J,, here is what they sent in case you didn't get it:
Good afternoon 27J parents,
This is a district-wide message from School District 27J. First, we want you to know your students are safe and learning. We have chosen to cancel all after-school activities for today, Sept. 12. This includes athletic events and practices as well as parent teacher conferences. Afternoon kindergarten and pre-school will remain on normal schedules. After-school care programs will also maintain normal hours. If road closures impact bus transportation routes this afternoon and delay student drop-off, the 27J transportation department will communicate directly with families of impacted riders. We will continue to monitor any new developments. The safety of your student remains our first priority.
Thank you,
School District 27J
Thank you guys for the update in the Thornton area.

Lots of flooding on the West side of the Springs too.
Just an FYI to anyone impacted by the floods. If you have livestock you need to relocate PM me. I have 40 acres of pasture and I am more than willing to help.
Good luck to all impacted by this.
Wife left school early. Had to have the maintenance folks come and check on our back porch. It tends to pool water and not drain out towards the road.
Newracer, I can't believe anyone was alive inside that car!
My office in Niwot closed at noon today from the rain. Thankfully I'd already been warned and have been working from home. And if I have to worry about flooding, then we're all screwed anyway as I'm on the 11th story :P
Stay safe out there!
here is my video I took while out by DIA yesterday

This is crazy, I hope everyone stays safe!
Streets are 100% dry in Castle Rock.
I'm hearing that parts of I-25 and I-225 are closed. Glad I stayed home today.
Also, of course by the time I think to put a 5-gallon bucket outside, it's only drizzling. I wish I thought of that on Sunday.
Just got my first rain related claim. I was wondering when I'd start seeing them come in.
Well, try harder. [Tooth]
Boulder Canyon and Magnolia Rd. both have slides. A 20' wall of water ran down Lefthand Canyon. Parts of Boulder are flooding Good thing they put the Boulder Emergency Response offices in the basement of the Justice Building, next to the river.
I read a crawler Sheriff Smith / larimer cty is asking for airlift assistance for folks in Drake.
Any words from Ah pook (nederland) & Twitchyfinger (Drake) ?
It's Boulder!
