lol. Truly a display of why making illegal, things that people demand to have, is stupid and beyond reason.

From the link and the TV story:
“We found several shops selling a 30-round magazine…but the magazine has a slight modification, so it only holds 15 round and complies with the letter of the law. But the clerk makes it clear that modification could be removed, transforming the magazine back to 30 rounds.”
Sooooo, what's the problem again? I see nothing illegal according to the letter of the law (aka: THE FUCKING LAW).
Well that was speeshul.......
I wonder if there was anyone speeding on the road today? Or any drunk drivers? Or any over doses from drugs? Or any middle school - high school aged kids caught selling heroin?
Doubt it, this was just a filler piece because there's nothing more news worthy.
Article says : "“It took the clerk 24 seconds to insert the spring in the magazine and we instantly had an illegal, 30-round magazine. Total cost, 25 bucks.”
Sounds like the clerk is the one that built the illegal mag which would then be against the law right? Looks like the Clerk sold an illegal mag and the reporter bought the illegal mag. Both should be taken off to jail or whatever the punishment is. What is the punishment for this anyway?
If any one wants see the video it's currently on cbs4's home page

That actually looked like a nice gun shop. They said somewhere in southern Colorado from what I remember.
Useful idiots of the left. Tom Mauser is just useless.
Wish Cook would have used "standard" capacity instead of "high" capacity
Wow. They went to the worst gun store in Cheyenne.
Tom Mauser is disgusted? How about all the voters that are disgusted by being ignored in Denver last year? How about being disgusted with a law that all but one Colorado Sheriff filed suit with the state over? F*** Channel 4 with this sensationalist story about a law that shouldn't ever have been allowed to pass.
I wonder why they specifically went OUT of the Denver Metro area to do the story when I know of several very popular Denver Metro stores that do the exact same thing. I know of at least one Denver metro store that doesn't even bother to disassemble them. Did the CBS Denver people decide not to "shit where they eat"? Perhaps trying not to mobilize Denver area gun owners? They certainly would have visited local stores first to prepare the story, but decided to do the story using out of area stores. I think that is interesting all by itself.
It seams like he was just proving the Sheriffs point along with every gun owner that testified; the law is unenforceable and it doesn't work.

I'm on my phone, anyone on a PC want to get the ball rollin'?
Tagging this for later
Mauser needs to just shut up, but I did find this interesting:
A little self-preservation there? Stay classy, Rapsheet.Quote:

They wanted so badly to put SOME anti mag stuff on the books, no matter how poorly written.
I watched the hearing (I usually don't watch that stuff...but I did).
The Republicans, for hours, pointed out almost all of the holes in the bill at the hearing.
They BEGGED the Democrats to come and debate the issues...but as they Dems had the majority vote, they sat quietly until the republicans were done.
The law was so poorly written, that the Sheriffs filed suit, and said "There is no way we can enforce this law...it has too many holes."
Then Hick got the State's Attorney to draft a letter of 'Technical Guidance' on what the law was SUPPOSED to say, to address some issues.
The letter was drafted on 16MAY13. Almost 2 months BEFORE the law was to go into effect.
(When is the last time you saw a law, not yet in effect, need the State's Attorney to 'explain' what it was 'SUPPOSED' to say?
The letter is to have the Force of Law.
I still can't figure what "Force of Law" is. At trial, a judge is supposed to adjudicate based on the laws; the laws that are on the books.
The letter seems like it can be used to 'frame' the context, but not as a defensible argument for the state's prosecutor.
Q: What kind of Law needs to have an accompanying letter to explain what was 'intended', BEFORE the law goes into effect, any way ? (Rhetorical )
A: A Poorly written one.
Then on 19JUN13, Hick blamed his signing of the bill on the promise of a staff member.
So my stance is that all the holes are the responsibility of the Democrats; those that authored it, those that did not understand it, and those that were too afraid of their party to get up, debate it, and re-write it.
...I'm stepping OFF my soapbox now.
This was interesting because it was in Denver, he had a Draco with at least one full magazine next to his pile of drugs. They charged him with the new state statute instead of the Denver AWB. And he plead down to that magazine charge.
I'm thinking that the Denver AWB doesn't have a "with intention to commit a crime" component that the state charge does.
I'm started to see leftist whiners come out of the woodwork about how the state is going to completely flip Republican. They can see the writing on the wall but aren't smart enough to get out of the way. The best part is hearing them blame gun owners for it...as if it's our responsibility to just take the shit spooned out by the Dem majority. If they didn't want to get bit, they shouldn't have kicked the dog.
Why is buying an alleged illegal mag such a big deal ?
There are millions of them in the state, legally, per the mag law's provisos.
Even if they claimed to buy an honest to goodness standard cap mag, many of the sheriffs have decided to 'Choose to NOT Enforce' the law.
Apparently, that is their choice, as was demonstrated by the DC Police/City when David Gregory possessed an illegal 30-rd mag on National TV, in the city of Washington DC, and the police/city chose to "NOT PRESS CHARGES".
As far as telling someone how to retrofit a mag...just search YouTube and the web.
You will find out how to make MUCH worse things out of legal household items.

From their mouths to God's ear! We can only hope.
One blessing we have is that Democrats are filed to the brim with hubris ... had they waited until after this election and after they completely set up protocols to prevent the Republicans from ever retaking power in the state to push their gun control nonsense they might have been able to make it stick and made them much worse (and this goes tipple if they are successfully able to destroy TABOR in the courts).
Instead they jumped the gun on gun control (no pun intended) and it may cost them their takeover of Colorado.
But hey, I'm riding a Halloween candy sugar buzz so I'm in an unusually optimistic mood :p
