No. It's just a simple, laser etching. That's how it came off the machine.
It's my understanding that they can do deeper engraving that meets ATF requirements if needed but my work was strictly for cosmetic purposes.

Orange color fill would be interesting.
I know it makes a pretty good skin dye. Can you powder coat with Cheetos dust?
Any of you know what kind of turn around time it would take Damage Factory to do this, and some numbers and a name on an AR lower?http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b9a4468626.jpg

Why don't you ask Ken (ChunkyMonkey)? He's the owner/operator of the store/laser. Send him a PM.
Went in today. Cool little shop with some unique and very nice offerings.
Super nice guys.
I'll definitely be back.

Dropped by Damage Factory today on recommendation of somewhat co-worker of mine...nice shop and nice to meet Chunky Monkey.
Picked up an AeroPrecision lower, and had a lil 'Merica laser engraved on it...will do business with these guys again...

I guess I never put an official review of DF yet. Since they pay me $100 to do it, I guess I should. Just kidding! They didn't pay me anything but shop is awesome. Never a bad dealing with them. Only bad thing is I spend too much when I go in.
These guys are a joy to do business with. HIGHLY recommend them.
I brought in an older Springfield 1911 that had a worn finish. I was contemplating on whether or not to have Bert refinish it. I saw what Ken did with a Glock and thought I'd see what he could do.

This was the original finish. The frame had skater tape on it from the guy who sold it to me. He was a three gunner. After we removed the tape, we discovered the finish underneath was rough and scratched up. I can see why he covered it in skater tape for the sale.
After Ken did his magic, this is the result.

I'm liking the new look immensely. The original wear complements what Ken did so well!
Thanks Ken and Damage Factory! (Of course, while I was waiting as Ken did his thing, I kept picking up things and putting them on the counter. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff as well!)
Awesome and friendly service. Appreciate it. Do all my transfers here even though it is a bit of a drive.
What process did he use to get that effect?
Velocitas, Opprimere,
Violentia Operandi
Depends upon what he is referring to. If he is referring to my 1911, the finish was already worn and he simply used the laser to produce the finished look. The pistol finish is still worn, but enhanced. I think it came out great.
Etching and oxidizing w/ laser basically. http://damagefactory.com/custom-shop/
Thanks to Mile & Ken, again for the assistance.
Went there for first visit today to do a transfer. Can’t beat the price and enjoyed looking around. Thanks guys.
A few weeks back was my first visit... it was awkward. I liked the dog fine.
I'll try again sometime to sort it, maybe after they are in the new space.
Where did DF move too?
If the plan hasn't changed, I believe they were scouting a larger location a few doors down in the same pod.
Sent from somewhere...
Same place as always (as of yesterday). Same good friendly crew.
If someone from here could pm that be great! Few questions but you guys are closed til Tuesday
New place looks awesome!!!! (Just a few doors up from the last site)
Stopped in and got to bs with those guys a bit and drool over some things on my wishlist. Top notch store all the way around!
Thanks again for everything guys!

I sold a gun lasts week and the transfer was done there. Super nice people and some very nice merchandise.
Damage factory has earned 100% of my business these days. Those guys are great, know the laws, and have excellent pricing.
First time dealing with DF and not impressed AT ALL by the customer service, but looks like I am in the minority...
Certainly not here to take up for Damage Factory, but these stores have been insanely busy for the past 7 months straight, with limited inventory and irate customers--many who lack knowledge of firearms, and are mad because you don't have the gun their buddy said they need, or ammo to go in it.
So, I'd say cut them some slack.
I saw this at a local shop here. Guy wanted to fight the employee, because he didn't have ammo to sell him. The shelves in that store are barely stocked, as almost every other gun store in the area, if not the country. And here's this guy going ballistic because they had no ammo to sell him.
As people said.
Not many inventory after panic spike of demands.
No cz mags so I had to buy glock 17 mag for $34 for transfer fee fulfillment ($25 merchandise).
Prior to panic buying, many many items on shelves.
I didn’t have a great experience doing an FFL transfer, until I decided to buy a firearm for my “spend at least $25”... then they got a lot nicer
It has been a tough year for the people behind the counter. We often wonder what foxhole our customers have been hiding in all year.
