I know I know lol.
Yeah that was exactly my thought. Buy one while they are hot, if I don't like it, shouldn't be hard to offload.
Did you end up ordering night sights for yours?

I better come help you shoot it (and try the Shield), where are you going to be?
I've got some work to finish. About what time do you think you'll be there?
Sorry cluttering your thread Ray.
I'll see if I can make it, but don't wait up if I can't.
It's not mine. I made it for everyone. [Flower]
Funny you should mention that. I was actually planning on running down to Bowers this morning to pick up a set of the Trijicon HD sights.
Seems my wife had other plans for me. [gohome]
I think I'm going to put a Ghost connector in it as well. The trigger is pretty heavy compared to my other Glocks.
I put two magazines through mine yesterday. (Was during a trip for some other stuff, didn't have much time to spend)
I was hitting low left with every shot, feels good to hold, just can't get the right grip on it. Need more time with it and I think a mag extension should they ever be in stock.
I'm pretty sure Bowers had the sights in stock last time I was there.
Also, if any of you guys prefer the magazine with the little extension on it I'd trade you mine for one with the flat base plate.
Aright, so here are my thoughts on the Glock 43 after a range trip, hope you don't mind me piggy backing on this thread Ray, just don't see a need for two separate G43 discussions. I'm still conflicted on the grip, it is a bit small front to back compared to the Shield, but I think some Talons would really help with this, and since Talons have pretty much become a mainstay for all my pistols, i'll be picking a set up ASAP.
I ran 170 rounds through the pistol (in a very short amount of time I might add), ammo consisted of the following (in order of firing sequence):
-50 rounds of Herters (S&B I think), 115 grain FMJ. This ammo really felt a bit snappy to me, and was not giving me a great first impression of the gun. The recoil almost felt 40S&W 'ish. Maybe I was just extra recoil sensitive today, but i'm being as accurate as possible.
-50 rounds of Federal American eagle 124 grain FMJ. This ammo is listed as 40 FPS faster than the Winchester NATO ammo that you can get, so it's not +P, but it's also not watered down either. This ammo was very mild mannered, even compared to the Herters 115 grain, and was by far my favorite load to shoot through the tiny Glock.
-50 rounds of Fiocchi 147 grain JHP. This is what I usually run through all my new 9mm pistols, as it's a pretty weak 147 grain hollow point, so if the pistol is going to struggle, it's likely to struggle with this ammo (in my opinion). The recoil on this ammo was about on par with the 124 grain, which usually isn't my experience with 147 grain, it's usually softer shooting.
-20 rounds Federal 124 grain HST. I wanted to run the HST, as this is what I carry in all my 9mm pistols. This was just a bit hotter than the 124 grain American eagle, but still pleasant to shoot.
All loads were very manageable as you'd expect from a 9mm. The G43 doesn't seem to handle recoil quite as well as the Shield, but in fairness, i've only been shooting the Shield with Talons, and I suspect that could make all the difference in the world (if you recall, I wasn't fond of the Shield sans Talons). To be honest, the "texture" on the G43, leaves a lot to be desired, as it's very mild, not allowing much in the way of grip. I also believe i've been too spoiled with the aluminum Apex trigger on my Shield, and was reminded how much I hate the serrations on the Glock trigger.
I liked the 43 enough, that I think i'll invest in sights, Talon's, and a smooth trigger, but outside of that, it's a pretty sweet little CCW piece. One issue I foresee running into until the G43 craze dies down, is spare mags. I really enjoy having the option to carry light, or stack deep with spare mags should I venture into unsavory locations, oh well. Now to get a holster for this thing.
Here is a pic of the 124 grain American Eagle ammo at 15 yards (50 rounds).

A couple stragglers, but I was trying to go as quickly as possible with my COM to head transitions.
I had the Talon grips for my 43 before I even bought the pistol. The factory texture on the 43 is really not very grippy. The Talons went on as soon as I got home.
Oh, and if I know I am going someplace that makes me nervous, think I'll pass on stacking deep with a bunch of six round mags and saddle up with the 19.
Hell, I use to never carry a spare mag. Now I carry a spare mag no matter what. If crimes against individuals starts going up I'm going to carry my g17 or get a g19. Thanks for the wright up, still can't wait to get one.
Gregcotellc.com has mags for these. Just got the email today. $31 for the extended grip mags & $25 for the flat base mags. They also have G42 mags.
Just got mine yesterday! Attachment 58418
Wife got it for me, early Fathers day present! Put 100 rounds through it, including some 10 rounds of Federal 124 gr +P HST ammo. First shot fired at 10 yards hit dead center of my point of aim. After that I just had fun, except for the third round fired inducing a failure to feed, got hung up on the feed ramp.
Just an FYI for the G43 owners here, Neves received a large shipment of finger extension mags, $19.99 a piece, which is quite a bit cheaper than I've seen online (which are mostly out of stock). Only caveat is they don't come with a package, not a problem to me, but may bother some. I picked up four of them.
Also picked up the Ghost inc "edge" connector for my 43, wow what a difference, exactly what the stiff factory trigger needed.
A set of Ameriglo "Hackathorn" sights also went on the pistol. I'll post pics when I get a chance.
Now I need to do a fair comparison between the Shield and 43.
Got mine today for an awesome price... couldn't resist...
Irving if you want to try mine, I might hit up the range next week for lunch. Txt me...
I don't have a holster for it yet, but this little pocket holster seems to fit fine. I'll see how it is pocket carrying.

I never have time. It's okay though, as I'd buy a Shield without ever shooting one anyway.

Have some Talons on the way, just using some extra pieces I had laying around for now.
Just ordered a G-Code INCOG holster for mine, 4-6 week wait for it [emoji53]. 5280 armory had one 43 holster in stock, a Blackhawk! Appendix for like $23. Anybody used one of those?
^^^^ when you get that holster I'd like to know how it feel.
I looked at the 42 incog at Bowers, and I'm going to have to pass, just way too thick of kydex for me. We cut capacity of our CCW to have an ultra thin pistol, more comfortable for carrying, and then we shove it into a thick bulky holster, no thanks.
Mike said they are getting a shipment of the Bladetech holster like I'm using for my Shield, extremely thin and lightweight, I'll be picking one up from him.
I have 2 of the INCOGS already for The Glock 26/19 and aside from the 19 grip printing a bit, the holster is not hard to hide at all, also extremely comfortable. Every Blade tech Ive ever tried has just not worked for me, just my opinion. Good thing theres options out there.
Swapped out the factory connector for a Ghost 3.5 Edge connector today. Made a definite improvement in the trigger. Need to take it out again and put some more rounds through it to see if I shoot it any better now that the trigger isn't so heavy. If the next range trip goes well my next upgrade will be a set of the Trijicon HD sights.
Heck, I could have grabbed you a set from Bowers today.
Buy a second set to justify buying another Glock 43... That's what we do!!
I'm undecided on sights myself
