So, there's a hot chick, a nerdy chick, a talking dog, a skinny stoner, and ghosts and monsters?

Yes, and half the time, the bad guy is the new character that seems to be trying to help the sheriff for the first half of the show.

I'm still watching it, but after the first episode, The Cancer (4th?) and especially Dog Soldier episode (5th?) of season 1, it really hit me.
I love that show and I think the fourth season is the best one yet. I do feel like for as many homicides Absoroka County gets that the Sheriff may want to consider increasing his staff to at least one or two more full time deputies.
Any body gripped about his habit of leaving the hammer back on the rifle to lean places?
I'll admit that it annoyed me always seeing his 1911 holstered with the hammer forward. I do think the show has been fairly consistent with him cocking the hammer when he pulls his gun out. I do know a lot of guys, especially old timers. like to chamber a round and then ride the hammer forward to carry the gun that way. In many cases it's not a lack of education because when I have brought this up they always say, "I know, but I prefer it this way." Not sure why. I'm not saying the show is depicting the sheriff as a guy that realizes he's doing this and Hollywood loves the sound of a hammer cocking so it could all be accidental.
It's filmed in New Mexico (generally around Santa Fe). Which makes the following kind of ironic:
So would that make Henry Scooby? Or Velma?Quote:
I love the scenery shots. That's another very "breaking bad" style of thing but with mountains and prairies substituted for New Mexico's deep blue sky and rocky desert.
Neither.

Started watching because Longmire was a widower. I am also a widower. Got hooked. Waiting for season 5. Season 4 is the best yet. Yes. it's annoying to see the way he handles his 1911 and his Winchester rifle but I can live with the Hollywood inaccuracies. Great show!
Part way through the first season myself. It's okay to be annoyed that he doesn't hire more staff or get a cell phone right?

[low whistle] The last two episodes of season 2 were down right thrilling!
Thanks again for the recommendation Bailey.
I don't remember what they were about. I'll have to look for a reminder.
Walt and Henry take heat from the events back in Denver. Mean while, Branch doesn't head a warning to stay off sacred land and takes some shots from a ghost Dog Soldier.
Oh, yeah...those were good episodes.
Okay I'm done. Season five doesn't start until September of next year?
On to American Horror Story (tried to get wife to watch it two years ago and she said she "wasn't into it." Now it's her new gig.), Sherlock Holmes, and Peaky Binders.
It's the finger-always-on-the-trigger that gets me. Have none of these people ever handled a firearm in real life?
No wonder we have so many accidental shootings with kids when every image they see from TV, video games, movies, etc, indicates that the trigger is the normal "resting" place for the trigger finger. [Rant1]
Just finished season 4. Nice cliffhanger ending...
Observation: Not sure exactly when Netflix took over but I noticed that when they did, two things happened: First, each episode went from 45 minutes to an hour (I guess because they didn't have to allow for commercials) and second, instead of having a "murder of the week" that gets solved by the end of the episode, they went with longer story lines that cross over multiple episodes, more like other modern television dramas on Netflix.
I'm looking forward to that transition.
I'm currently at S1 E6. Some of the firearm knowledge inaccuracies bother me, like no modern 45-70 firearms. Never mind the Marlin lever guns. Lots of poor trigger discipline. Does Walt carrying in Condition 2 bug anyone but me?

Good news sportsfans! Season 5 is a go, they're currently filming and estimate it should be released Aug/Sept timeframe. A little wait, but thankfully there are plenty of other great shows on Netflix to watch in the meantime.
Thank God because we just finished Season 4 last night ... we also just finished watching Into the Badlands so we're on the edge of our seats waiting to find out the ifs and whens of Season 2.
Been trying to watch that show. On episode 5. Unfortunately IMO the acting , plot , premises is so bad. It's a chore trying to get through an episode. Thankfully i'm surfing the web , using ITTBL as background noise.
Like Breaking Bad (START ANOTHER THREAD IF YOU WANT TO BASH MY OPINION) it's a show that has an audience, just not us as some of them.
I'd watch Wild Kingdom reruns 24/7 before subjecting myself to BB or ITTBL.
Cool. I really like this show and watched all 4 seasons in a few weeks.
Season five next month?
