Good bad, or Indifferent. Wyoming's State Motto is:
Wyoming, Where the Men are Men. And the Sheep Know It.

Those numbers are pure bovine scatology... So are they incompetent, or are they skewed for some agenda?
No way Alaska is that far down the list, for one thing 15.2 guns per 1000? my Aunt and Uncle alone would represent 1500-2000 people by themselves...

Could be that <registered> is the key word. But then why are so many registered in Wyoming?Quote:
Alaska tops the list with 62 percent of adults saying they own a firearm;
ETA: News articles like this illustrate just how much pure BULLSHIT the left will throw out there- either CBS or Motherjones are wrong, lying or a combination of both. So what else is CBS lying about?
^^^^^I think we are off topic? This appears to be the who blows harder thread.
Just kidding!
I still can't figure out the registered part. Maybe they did that to draw us out and get us to tell them exactly how many guns we actually have. Or it could just be they are that stupid and believe all guns are registered. I really tend to believe they are only talking about NFA guns, that would explain Wyoming.
It does appear to be agenda driven in that none of the photos include minorities and a number of photos are at gun rallies or with Republicans. They're clearly trying to paint a picture of the "typical gun owner". I like the Arkansas picture of two rusty blackpowder rifles and what looks like a BB gun. In some pictures the AR is an assault rifle in others a semi-auto rifle.
Fuck I hate the term NoCo. That is all.

This article claims they used registered NFA items to arrive at the stated numbers.
Even if they used NFA numbers they are still out of whack on their statistics. I would guess quite a few of those NFA items aren't even firearms but are suppressors.
So then we can logically conclude with CBS that CA has "0 guns", since NFA items are not allowed in the state. Which must be why there is zero gun-involved crime in CA, right?
More bullshit fabricated stats. Like there's any way in Hell that anyone can determine who owns what or how many.
Federal agencies are not actually required to register their NFA firearms, but the stuff not specifically produced for military contracts generally is on the registry, because it was created by FFL/SOT manufacturers who register everything they make or import, so that if need be, it can be sold to non-federal LE, or into private channels, if allowed.
Therefore, most of what even federal agencies other than the military possess was acquired through commercial channels, so has likely been registered on the NFRTR, even though all such transactions for government entities of any level are tax-free.
DC has more non-military federal agencies than just about anywhere else on the planet, so of course the NFRTR is chock-full of entries home-based in DC. I'm just surprised they're using the 700k population figure of DC proper for their per-capita measurements, versus the DC metro number, which is much larger.
