I bet you're fun at parties.
Saw a trailer on TV this morning. Looks like a real winner. [hahhah-no]
Current average rating for Miss Sloan on imdb.com has it at a 5.9/10.
I suspect a lot of people are tired of being lectured by Hollywood.
Kind of reminds me of during the Bush years every few months another movie would come out painting our soldiers as either psychopathic killers and rapists or else dumb-as-dirt dupes. AFAIK every one of those movies bombed at the box office.
I'm imagining some studio executives sitting around a table and saying "We can't figure out why Mr. and Mrs. middle America don't want to shell out fifteen bucks to watch movies that portray their sons and daughters as either monsters or idiots." [facepalm]
So, only about 60% of the reviews on rotten tomatoes like the movie, and even a lot of the positive reviews refer to the protagonist as unlikable.
I stand by my prediction. If it makes money, it'll be just barely, and it'll have a short theatrical run in flyover country.
A year from now it'll be about as fondly remembered as The Trigger Effect.
I was reading something about the movie earlier today. About how it was created in anticipation of Hillary winning and starting the big gun control push. I mean, really, it's like Hollywood elite were in cahoots with the DNC.
I thought this thread deserved some closure.
It opened in 11th place this weekend behind several 6 week old movies. Even though it was a somewhat limited release its average per theater was still pretty low.
$1,844,972 weekend gross. $1,120 theater average.
Even though nobody wanted to see the movie it will still get a nice Hollywood pat on the back when award season rolls around.
EDIT: Box Office Mojo has it listed as its 3rd weekend out but this was the movie's wide release.
Its crashing and burning.

LMAO, go ahead Hollywood, keep trying to push your agendas and people will keep their money
You mean people aren't willing to fork out $25+ to spend 2 hours being lectured to and told how stupid they are to own guns by a bunch of wealthy finger-wagging hypocrites who hide behind locked gates and armed bodyguards? Do tell!
In a related story, meteorologists state that snow may be cold! :D
Dumb shits will never learn, fuck them!!!!!
Go see "Arrival" instead.
IMDB shows a dismal opening, bad reviews, and under "goofs" it says this which I thought was really promising:
Attachment 68349
Well at this pace they'll be able to pay their catering bill.
Serves them right. All of them.
Still wish we had a Conservative studio that would do a film on the defensive gun uses that happen every day.
I hope the hollyweirdos continue to pump money into losers like this. Eventually, they're gonna run out of money.
I really enjoy reading comments on this thread. Very well said.
Dumb Hollywood thinks every us counties are like Los Angeles County.
I read this morning that it's a total bombshow, failing to even make even at the box office... but Jessica Chastain got a Golden Globe nomination for her role, thus proving the empty headed libtards that populate Hollywierd are all completely out of touch with "flyover country" America. No surprises here. In other news, I can't wait to go see the new Star Wars tomorrow night- while carrying a Sig 9mm on my hip ;)
Are movies about lawsuits ever blockbusters?
Runaway jury.
What if it was a movie about Wolverine fighting in court over child support payments? I'd watch that.
Wolverine's attorney: "It's not that bad Logan, you can recover from this just as quickly as if it were a broken arm. "
Wolverine: "That's not the point and you know it!"
Yeah, John Wick was good. I needed to retreat to my safe space for a few minutes when the puppy was killed, but otherwise I was cheering the whole time.
Which was also an anti-gun movie. Apparently the novel was about suing the tobacco industry but when they turned it into a movie it was about suing the gun industry.
Never saw it, so I'm just going on what I've heard. Don't know how it did at the box office but my guess is - meh.
