We’re gonna be missing Hickenlooper here real soon
I predict Cory Gardner will lose his seat in 2020.
Didn't realize we had this many "never Trumpers" on here.
That's a lot of speculation you're throwing around that you've seemingly disguised as fact.
I don't believe for a second "the media made Trump win the primaries...". That doesn't even make sense. I don't disagree that most of the media thought he'd be the easiest for HRC to beat. But I think it was people who were tired of business as usual "made" Trump win the primaries. And it wasn't even close.
And who said Trump is = to Jesus? I've never seen that sort of sentiment from anyone here. I've seen a lot of pissing and moaning and whining about how rude he is, or talks too much, or he's this or that or the other thing and he tweets too much. But compare him to Jesus? No.
And BFD...so he was a democrat before. So was Reagan. Trump is governing as a pretty conservative president. Probably the most conservative in my lifetime. His presidency hasn't been perfect in my opinion. I hate the fact he jumped on the "ban bump-stocks" bandwagon...too reminiscent of a knee-jerk progressive reaction for my taste. And, yeah, he probably talks too much.
On the other hand, he does something no other conservative that's been elected or tried to get elected has ever done. He's stood up to progressive bullies and thrown their shit right back in their faces and he doesn't apologize for it. There is no way in hell ANY of the candidates he beat would've stood up to the democrats and staying in the fight like he did over the Kavanaugh thing. So for that alone I'll give him a pass on the bump-stock thing. I don't like it, I don't think it's right. But the only way I'm get a perfect president is if I get elected. So I'll live with Trump.
Newsflash. The election wasn't close as it was. I voted for Cruz in the primary. But I'm glad now that he didn't win. Cruz wouldn't have stood up to the progressive bullies to the same extent Trump has. And that's not speculation like most of your post. It's fact. All you have to do is look at Cruz' behavior as a senator. And for that matter look at how he handled Trump's swipes at him in the campaign. Cruz would've probably been a very good president. But Trump is a very good president and he's a better street brawler. It makes for a great combination when you have to deal with the likes of an extremely hostile media and a government full of progressive assholes.Quote:

Yes it is too much to ask for... People who met that criteria are too smart, too busy, to try to single-handedly take on a public service office like that.
I think a lot of our votes get washed out in the water from voting for third parties like the Libertarian, Constitutionalist, etc. I was looking at some numbers and if all those side parties were included in the "Republican" side, the R's would've won a lot more seats/issues.
I think this is correct but Republicans have only themselves to blame. They aren't conservative in any way. They just are right of the new Democrats. People on the right are way more likely to vote for values before party whereas people on the left are the opposite.
It's not just the Gov't. It's the people writing the curriculum and the text books too. A few years ago my wife was tutoring a middle school student from a private school in NoVA (we lived in NoVA at the time). The student had a homework sheet and one of the items was to write a report on the rights 'granted' by the BoR.
Well the push for more gun control took a long time...

"Colorado Democrats plan to reintroduce controversial 'red flag' gun bill"
What was that? 36 hours?
If they're smart, they'll pass red flag. Show their members it's safe to take our rights. And then move on to the next one.
BTW, there is actually good public support on red flag laws and a lot of confused gun owners who don't understand the negative consequences. Many gun owners think by decreasing mass shootings (LE has known about a lot of these cases) that it will actually protect our gun rights.
