Maybe Alec Baldwin was down in Santa Fe for a visit?
EDIT-

Hackman, 95, was found dead Wednesday in a mudroom and his 63-year-old wife, Betsy Arakawa, was found dead in a bathroom next to a space heater, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office detectives wrote in a search warrant. There was an open prescription bottle and pills scattered on a countertop near Arakawa.
CO (not to be confused with Colorado) was the absolutely first thing that jumped to mind when I read about all three of them being dead and no foul play suspected.

Deputies noted that it appeared Arakawa had “obvious signs of death, body decomposition, bloating in her face and mummification in both hands and feet” when she was found on the floor of a bathroom near the home’s entry, according to the report.
Looks like they had been dead a couple of weeks before being discovered.
Big fan of Gene Hackman. My favorite line from The Unforgiven, "The Duck of Death".

Actor Gene Hackman died of heart disease a full week after his wife died from hantavirus in their New Mexico hillside home, and he may not have been aware she was dead because he showed severe signs of Alzheimer’s disease, authorities revealed Friday.
“Mr. Hackman showed evidence of advanced Alzheimer’s disease,” Jarrell said. “He was in a very poor state of health. He had significant heart disease, and I think ultimately that’s what resulted in his death.”
Whoa- didn't see that one coming. Poor guy. Getting old sucks.

Whoa! That caught me off guard.
I was expecting Dick Van Dyke (99), Clint Eastwood (94) or even Mel Brooks (98, 99 in June), but not Big George.
RIP.
RIP big man.
I got a chance as a kid to meet Ali, Frazier, and Forman all at the same time at a banquet…one of the greatest memories of my childhood.
Professional boxing would not have been the same without this guy. RIP Geo.

Game show host Wink Martindale, known for "Tic-Tac-Dough," "High Rollers" and "Gambit," has died, according to his official Facebook page. He was 91.
I spent many sick days as a kid being entertained by Tic-Tac-Dough.

It was either soap operas, or game shows.
I almost got addicted to soap operas after I was home sick two days in a row.
RIP Wink.

Pope Francis, the Catholic Church’s first Latin American pontiff who charmed the world with his humble style and concern for the poor, has died, as announced by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Vatican camerlengo. He was 88.

Has the "JD Vance killed the Pope" rhetoric started yet?
Only on that bastion of hope, civility, and unearned self-importance, Bluesky.

I didn't find Olbermann- I can't look at that site for too long. I strain my eye muscles from all the rolling.

"Desert Drifter" https://www.youtube.com/@Desert.Drifter passed away about two months ago.
He was stopped at a stoplight at 1st and north in Grand Junction, CO in February when a DUI in a white van rear-ended his car. He was in the ICU for about six weeks before passing.
Always wear seat belts! He made videos out in the SW, like this:

Such a tragic loss to the family of Andrew Cross. I was not aware of him until you posted the information about his passing and a link to his youtube. He created wonderful video's as he explored cliff dwellings. Thank you for sharing and I invite others to watch his video's.
R.I.P. Hot Lips.

Brownells sadly announces the death of long-time family patriarch Frank Brownell, who successively held the positions of President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board at Brownells.
For nearly six decades, Frank?s passion, vision, and generosity shaped not only Brownells, but the entire firearms community. Friends and customers alike remember him greeting ?long lines of friends? at SHOT Show and the NRA Annual Meetings, championing gunsmithing, and driving industry innovation.
From marketing the now-iconic Latigo Sling at the 1964 NRA convention to elevating gunsmithing as a respected profession, his influence can be seen in countless shops, ranges, and workbenches across America.
An industry innovator, he helped establish Brownells as a nationwide legacy retailer in the gunsmithing, gun parts, and firearms space. He helped advance the best model for working with and developing endemic industry media. He advocated for elevating gunsmithing to a respected profession and created new ways to support and develop the growth of gunsmithing, gun ownership, and gun culture.
Friends, colleagues, and customers are encouraged to honor Frank by sharing memories, supporting aspiring gunsmiths, or simply spending time at the bench, just as he loved to do.

Sorry for anyone who dies at a relatively young age but I was never a fan of hers or her cooking. Her repartee wasn't particularly witty and while she didn't go for extravagant crap like Bobby Flay, she didn't have the food science down like Alton Brown or the flair of some of the other chefs. It always seemed to me that Food Network was pushing her for reasons other than her cooking.
Well, I wasn't the biggest fan. First saw her on Iron Chef America, where she seemed to be the "head down" helper.
Saw her in more shows and she always looked stiff like she was the "bit^#". The "iron clad look" got old but seems to be a theme on the FN.
Saw some out takes and she looked more normal. FN likes "a look". Do not veir from it.
Peter David died on May 24. He was an avowed Leftist but wrote some excellent science fiction stories and comic books.
More brutal (to me) was Jim Shooter dying yesterday. Jim Shooter started working for DC comics at the age of 14 but he wrote better than most people 3 times his age. He revitalized Marvel comics at a time when they desperately needed some discipline, giving us Chris Claremont's X-men, Walt Simonson's Thor, and Frank Miller's Daredevil. https://comicbookclublive.com/2025/0...r-dies-age-73/
