Oh I thought of another one. Someone was telling me about mini shells for 12 gauge that are basically like half the length of a 3" shell. So you can obviously fit more of them in your mag tube (as opposed to getting an extension) but apparently they don't feed very well. This was in one of my many conversations about the merits of and SBS for home defense. I'm under the impression that once the mini shell pops out of the tube mag, there is too much room on that little paddle that snaps it up into the receiver (but I haven't handled them so I'm not sure why they don't feed well). Anyway, I was thinking that it'd be easy enough to modify an extra lever to feed the mini shells with more reliability. Anyone have any first hand experience with these to tell me if I'm thinking about this the right way or not?
