Most valid points have already been stated, on both sides. What first came to mind when I saw the product was for secondary security of NFA items. I don't know first hand, but I believe if the NFA item is in your name, your wife/adult children who have the safe combination, can't have access to it (Gramar Nazi's, was that a run-on sentence? Please advise.). Creating the need for secondary security.

I think this is a great idea. I would chose this over the cable lock any day. I dont have a need to lock up my rifle but if i did this is what i would choose.

I like that it does not make the rifle look ugly like with a cable lock.
